Light Business Account Terms & Conditions

A bank account designated for financial transactions related to professional or civil business activities for individuals who practice trades, crafts, or professions that are exempt or otherwise covered under the applicable Commercial Law requirements.

  1. A Business Light Account is defined as a bank account/electronic payment account that falls under the category of business accounts and is dedicated to financial transactions related to professional or civil business activities for individuals engaged in craft-based or exempt professions, as required by applicable Commercial Law. Eligible activities include:
    • Businesses who are directly regulated by official authorities other than the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply, including but not limited to professional associations, regulatory bodies, ministries, and other government departments.
    • Businesses not directly regulated by official authorities, including but not limited to certain consulting, training, and craft professions.
    • Individuals conduct business activities within the administrative boundaries of refugee camps, organized in accordance with requirements issued by local official authorities and/or international and regional organizations and their affiliated committees.
  2. The Business Light Account may be opened for both Jordanian and non-Jordanian customers of all nationalities, in accordance with the applicable regulations.
  3. A Business Light Account may not be opened for a customer who already owns an existing company or institutional account.  
  4. Joint accounts are not permitted under the Business Light Account category.
  5. The account may be granted various banking services, including:
  6. A debit card will be issued for Business Light Account.
  7. The minimum amount required to open an account is JOD 500.
  8. A low-balance fee will be charged if the account balance falls below JOD 100.
  9. Overdraft facilities and/or salary transfers are not permitted on this type of account.
  10. No credit interest will accrue on the Business Light Account.
  11. The bank reserves the right to request any documents necessary to verify the customer’s employer, business activity, or nature of work.
  12. The account is subject to the fees and charges published in the bank’s schedule of fees and commissions.
  13. The bank reserves the right to take any action it deems appropriate if the customer violates the terms, conditions, or product-specific limitations.
  14. All other terms and conditions applicable to the bank’s current accounts shall also apply to the Business Light Account.
