Jordan Kuwait Bank and The Royal Marine Conservation Society Signs a Cooperation Agreement

Jordan Kuwait Bank (JKB) signed a cooperation agreement with The Royal Marine Conservation Society of Jordan (JREDS). This agreement comes to  enhance the framework of cooperation between the two parties in the field of marine environmental protection, contribute to spreading the environmental message, support the programs and activities of the Society, and work to involve the Bank’s employees in all the environmental activities that the social implements, most notably the "Clean Up the World" campaign, which is implemented during the first half of September each year. This is in line with the Bank's vision of undertaking projects that seek to protect the environment and implement sustainable development goals, instilling environmental values, and participating in volunteer work to support the local community.

Pursuant to this agreement, the Bank will organize a diving initiative in cooperation with the Royal Marine Conservation Society and the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA). This initiative aims to clean the Red Sea from waste and remove all plastic materials from the seabed and beaches and raise awareness about the importance of general cleanliness for   tourist areas in Jordan. This will be done by involving  its employees in volunteer work, in addition to encouraging them to practice diving, and supporting domestic tourism and preservation of  the marine environment, fish, and coral reefs.

On his part, the Secretary and Acting Chief Executive Officer, Engineer Khaled Al-Kurdi, acknowledged Jordan Kuwait Bank, represented by Chief Executive Officer,  Haethum Buttikhi, for their participation in this campaign, and the JKB is one of the leading financial companies in the field of social responsibility, volunteer work, and supporting local initiatives.

For his part, Mr. Buttikhi expressed his pride in this cooperation, which comes in line with the Bank's goals regarding the preservation of the marine environment, its vital and sustainable role in the local the local community, and the translation of its strategy and social responsibility towards achieving sustainable development. He also expressed his contentment to strengthen the framework of cooperation between the two parties to unify efforts in combating marine environmental pollution, and he emphasized the Bank's keenness to involve its employees in such campaigns.
