Jordan Kuwait Bank has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the British Council to strengthen the English-language skills of employees across all levels of the organization. The partnership is designed to support employees’ professional growth, prepare the Bank’s workforce for the rapid changes shaping the banking industry, and further embed a culture of continuous learning and development across the workplace.
The agreement was signed by Emad Maghari, Head of Human Resources at Jordan Kuwait Bank, and Alex Lambert, the Country Director of Jordan at the British Council, in the presence of employees from both organizations.
The partnership forms part of Jordan Kuwait Bank’s ongoing commitment to investing in its people. This commitment is rooted in the Bank’s belief that employee development is essential to building a stronger, more agile banking institution that is well positioned for growth and equipped to respond to the evolving demands of the financial and banking sector at the local, regional and international levels.
Through the agreement, Jordan Kuwait Bank’s employees will have access to specialized English-language training programs delivered by the British Council. Employees will first complete placement assessments, allowing the programs to be tailored to their individual abilities and development needs in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
The programs will offer flexible learning options that combine in-person training with online learning, enabling employees to develop their skills effectively while balancing their training with their day-to-day professional responsibilities.
In addition to strengthening employees’ communication skills, the program is expected to enhance collaboration across teams and contribute to a higher standard of customer service. They will also help employees represent Jordan Kuwait Bank with greater confidence and professionalism in a range of business settings, both in Jordan and internationally.
Commenting on the agreement, Emad Maghari, Head of Human Resources at Jordan Kuwait Bank, said, “Investing in the development of our employees is a fundamental pillar of the Bank’s strategy. Our partnership with the British Council will give our employees access to training programs that meet the highest international standards, helping them develop their skills and remain prepared for the rapid changes taking place across the banking sector.”
He further stated, “We believe that building a skilled workforce with a strong commitment to continuous learning has a direct and positive impact on performance and strengthens our ability to provide our customers with an exceptional banking experience.”
Maghari added that stronger English-language skills allow more opportunities for employees to communicate effectively and benefit from international expertise and best practices. He noted that programs of like this one support employees’ individual professional development and the Bank’s overall performance and its ability to achieve its long-term strategic objectives.
The agreement reflects Jordan Kuwait Bank’s broader strategy of making sustainable investments in its human capital and fostering a workplace culture centered on continuous learning and development. By strengthening the capabilities of its employees, the Bank aims to ensure its workforce remains ready to meet the changing demands of the banking sector, enhance the quality of service provided to customers, and reinforce its position as a leading banking institution that places people and their development at the heart of its priorities.
