Sep 14, 2025

Jordan Kuwait Bank announced its main sponsorship of the Green Finance (GREEFIN) Forum 2025, held at the Fairmont Hotel under the theme “Green and Sustainable Finance: From Vision to Design.” The forum was organized by the Association of Banks in Jordan and held under the patronage of H.E. Dr. Adel Sharkas, Governor of the Central Bank of Jordan.

The event focused on how banks can design and implement green financial products that meet market needs, support the national transition toward a green economy, and align with both national priorities and international sustainability standards. Discussions also explored innovative financing mechanisms to address climate change, and strategies to accelerate the move toward more resilient, inclusive, and sustainability-driven banking models.

Commenting on the sponsorship, Jordan Kuwait Bank CEO Haethum Buttikhi highlighted the significance of the forum as a leading regional and international platform for dialogue and knowledge-sharing on sustainable finance. He emphasized that the bank’s sponsorship and participation reflect its strong commitment to social and environmental responsibility, as well as its ongoing efforts to adopt sustainable banking practices that advance the national green economy agenda and align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Mr. Buttihki also emphasized the importance of building strategic partnerships to introduce innovative financial products that create a positive impact on individuals and sectors across Jordan and the wider region, noting that green finance is a strategic priority for the bank’s plans.

The fourth session of the forum, titled “Strategic Partnerships and a Just Transition to Green Finance,” was moderated by Fadi Khalil, Head of Corporate Banking at Jordan Kuwait Bank.

At the closing ceremony, Mr. Buttikhi received a commemorative shield in recognition of the bank’s contribution and role as main sponsor. The forum concluded with panel discussions featuring senior banking leaders, decision-makers, and local experts, alongside international partners and institutions specializing in sustainable finance. These discussions reinforced Jordan’s growing position as a regional hub for dialogue on financial sustainability and the transition to a green economy.
