Feb 6, 2025

In a pioneering move to promote innovation in sustainable agriculture, Jordan Kuwait Bank has signed a partnership agreement with Keys for Sustainable Development and Challenger Team for Leadership Development and Human Resources to establish an interactive agricultural lab at Challenger Academy, located in King of Bahrain Forest. The academy is affiliated with the Young Women’s Christian Association (YWCA) – Airport Road.

The agreement was signed at the bank’s headquarters in the presence of Jordan Kuwait Bank’s CEO, Haethum Buttikhi, Keys for Sustainable Development founder and CEO, Dr. Thabet Al-Nabulsi, and Challenger Team CEO, Captain Maen Odeh.

Funded by Jordan Kuwait Bank, the lab will serve as a comprehensive training center covering various aspects of modern agriculture, including hydroponics, aquaculture, and organic fertilizer production. It will feature ten interactive stations designed to raise awareness about sustainable agriculture and modern farming techniques. Through hands-on learning experiences, students, employees, and participants will gain practical knowledge in this vital field.

Challenger Academy aims to become a key destination for private and public schools, government and private sector institutions, and other relevant organizations. By engaging participants in real agricultural experiments, the academy will provide practical training and firsthand learning opportunities.

Following the signing, Buttikhi stated, “At Jordan Kuwait Bank, we strongly believe in supporting initiatives that drive sustainable development. We are proud to partner with Keys for Sustainable Development and Challenger Team to establish this innovative agricultural lab. We hope this project will enhance awareness of sustainable agriculture and inspire young people to innovate in this vital sector."

Dr. Al-Nabulsi emphasized the significance of this collaboration, stating, “Through this partnership, we aim to empower future generations by equipping them with the knowledge and skills necessary to build a more sustainable future."

Captain Odeh welcomed the initiative, highlighting that the project will provide students with a valuable opportunity to learn, experiment, and contribute to a more sustainable world.
