Jordan Kuwait Bank provides IATA Pay service to airlines and their customers in collaboration with IATA, specifically addressing the travel needs for airline tickets. This service is designed to simplify payment processes for travel agencies and airlines through CliQ instant payment system, adhering to the standards of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and the Central Bank of Jordan’s instructions regarding commissions for instant payment system transactions on commercial payments (Circular No. 6640/2/26 dated April 3, 2023).
Definitions:
- Bank: Jordan Kuwait Bank (JKB).
- Business Day: The official working hours of the bank for dealing with the public, from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM, and for the evening shifts are only available in the mall branches from 4:30 PM to 10:00 PM. or as decided by the Central Bank from time to time.
- Client: The individual who benefits from the banking services provided by banks, whether they have an account with the bank or not.
- CliQ Service: The instant transfer service for clients of Jordanian banks, available 24/7 via the JKB Mobile app.
- IATA Pay Service: A service launched by IATA for airlines as an alternative payment method for purchasing airline tickets through their websites.
- Request-To-Pay (RtP) Service: A payment method under the instant payment system (CliQ), enabling individuals and institutions to send payment requests directly to the client who wishes to purchase a ticket from the airline's website. This service includes sending specific payment requests related to financial transactions to be completed through the client's banking app.
- QR Code Service: A payment method under the instant payment system (CliQ) where a QR code is displayed on the airline's website. The client scans the code using their banking app to complete the payment process.
- Refund Service: If an airline wishes to refund the ticket value, either fully or partially, Jordan Kuwait Bank refunds the agreed upon amount with the airline into the client’s account.
- Acquirer: The bank or company licensed by the Central Bank of Jordan to engage in electronic money collection services via electronic payment channels or direct electronic funds transfer orders, based on the instant payment system (CliQ). Jordan Kuwait Bank is the acquirer for commercial payments for airlines on the instant payment system (CliQ).
- Issuer: The bank or company licensed by the Central Bank of Jordan to engage in any payment services activities, including managing and executing credit and debit electronic payment transactions, mobile phone payments, and electronic funds payment services through the instant payment system (CliQ) in accordance with the applicable banking laws or electronic funds transfer regulations.
- System Operator: The Jordanian Company for Payment and Clearing Systems, licensed by the Central Bank to manage and operate the instant payment system (CliQ).
- Interchange Fee: The amount paid by the acquirer to the issuer, either directly or indirectly, from the value of the merchant discount fee for transactions executed via direct electronic funds transfer orders.
- Merchant Discount Rate (MDR): The amount paid by the merchant to the acquirer for direct electronic funds transfer orders.
- Interchange Plus Fee: The amount paid by the acquirer to the system operator from the value of the merchant discount fee for direct electronic funds transfer orders.
General Terms and Conditions:
- The client understands that Jordan Kuwait Bank provides a secure and easy service through IATA Pay for purchasing airline tickets.
- The client understands that they can benefit from the IATA Pay service through the CliQ instant payment service using the client’s mobile banking app.
- The client understands that they can pay via the Request-To-Pay system or the QR Code system.
- The client understands that if they wish to refund the ticket value, either fully or partially, JKB will only transfer the financial transaction only after receiving the instruction from the airline.
- The client understands that Jordan Kuwait Bank is not responsible for the pricing of airline tickets.
- The client understands that Jordan Kuwait Bank is not responsible for any cancellations or modifications made by the airline regarding the tickets.
- The client understands that Jordan Kuwait Bank and IATA agree and commit to ensuring full compliance with any legislations or directives from the Central Bank of Jordan and JoPACC related to CliQ. Both parties are jointly responsible for staying updated on any regulatory changes or updates during the term of this agreement and complying with them.
- The client understands that they can benefit from and register for the CliQ instant transfer service using the JKB Mobile app, with a one-time registration allowing them to add any account they wish.
- The client understands that they alone bear the responsibility for debiting from their account(s) when using this service, as well as the responsibility for any incorrect transfer to any other account. The bank is absolved of any responsibility for any errors, damages, losses, costs, or expenses the client may incur due to any breach of these terms, and the client bears all compensation, costs, claims, and damages that may be incurred by the bank due to any breach of these terms by the client.
- Payment transactions through the CliQ instant transfer service using the JKB Mobile app are subject to the commissions stipulated and published on the bank’s website (if any), If the scheme owner (JoPACC) or the Central Bank of Jordan have issued any regulations in this regard.
- The client undertakes not to use the service for commercial purposes aimed at profit or for donations.
- The bank has the right to modify the daily transfer limit at any time without prior approval from the client.
- The bank has the right not to execute any transfer amount for the client if there are insufficient funds in the account at the time of transfer, or if the transfer amount exceeds the maximum daily allowed limit, according to the specified limits below: a. The maximum daily limit for transfer transactions is 10,000 JOD.
- The client understands that if they link their mobile phone number with their account, their data (name/account number/service provider name) will appear to the transfer initiator on the payment channels of system participants.
- The client understands that their prior approval is required for granting the bank authorization to display their full name when conducting a transfer, whether the inquiry and/or transfer is conducted using the CliQ instant transfer service through the JKB Mobile app or the alias.
- The bank has the right to cancel the CliQ instant transfer service using the JKB Mobile app for the client at any time without prior notice and without any responsibility on the bank, in cases where it is found that the client has violated the terms of this service or for any other reasons deemed appropriate by the bank.
- The client has the right to cancel the CliQ instant transfer service using the JKB Mobile by following these steps:
- Log in to the JKB Mobile.
- Select the “CliQ”service.
- Click on the “Alias” icon
- Delete the Alias.
- The client understands that the CliQ instant transfer service is only available for transfers between bank accounts within the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and according to the currencies decided by the Central Bank and the Jordanian Company for Payment and Clearing Systems (JoPACC).
- The relationship between the bank and the client is subject to the provisions of the general and specific terms and conditions for dealing with bank accounts and electronic services, as well as any amendments that may be made to them later, provided they do not conflict with these terms.
